  1. What is BATC ?
    BATC - Business and Advanced Technology Center was established in 1992 with the support of the Prime Minister's Department. Based within UTM City Campus's 18-hectare campus at Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, it is intended to serve as a training ground for Malaysia industries to achieve a high level of performance in rapidly changing markets.
  1. How does the Executive Diploma programme differ from Diploma level programme ?
    An important feature of Executive Diploma is that entry requirements are based on personal capability and working experience, rather than paper qualifications where student intake is open throughout the year. This part-time programme is made up of 12 modules and 1 project work to be completed in a minimum period of 18 months and a maximum period 24 months.
  1. Who will award the Executive Diploma ?
    The Executive Diploma will be awarded by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to candidates who have successfully attended all the 12 modules, passed the post-modules assessment and have satisfactorily completed his/her paper work.
  1. When are the classes held ?
    Each module starts on Saturday and Sunday (one weekend per month) between 9.00a.m. and 7.00 p.m.
  1. Where is these programmes conducted ?
    These programmes are fully conducted by KLIA Training & Research Centre Sdn. Bhd, the training provider. The venue for the lecturers and tutorial classes can either be at KLIA Training & Research Centre, KLIA, Penang, Kerteh, Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, WP Labuan, Kota Kinabalu or Sandakan. However, you can choose to be have it at your premise or at any identified centre with no extra tution fee.
  1. I was a Graduate/Diploma holder but I do not have any experience. Can I apply for this programme ?
    Candidates need not have formal qualifications to commerce the programme. However, there are minimum requirements needed of a candidate as follows:
    • Degree or equivalent with one(1) year working experience; OR
    • Diploma or equivalent with three(3) years experience in supervisory or executive lvel; OR
    • Malaysia Higher Certificate of Education(STPM) with two(2) principals or equivalent with five(5) years working experience in supervisory or executive level;OR
    • Malaysia Certificate of Education(SPM) with three(3) credits or equivalent with seven(7) years working experience in supervisory or executive level
The BATC Education Board needs to be satisfied that a participant has the level of intellectual capability and personal drive to meet the demands of the programme..

  1. Can school leavers apply for these programmes ?
    NO. BATC Education Board does not recommend school leavers to apply for this programme since this programme is only suitable to those who have at least 1 (one year) working experience. (Same answer with question no. 8).
  1. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree and have some working experiences. Am I eligible to attend this course?
    YES. This Executive Diploma is suitable for anybody who has a personal drive and ambition to succeed in his career as this programme covers much on Management and Occupational Safety & Health, and we do not see any problem for art degree holder to enroll into this course.
  1. How often should I attend the module for this programme ?
    First of all, KLIA Training & Research Centre is conducting 12 modules a year i.e. one module one month. For each module, 2 days will be allocated in a month (Saturday & Sunday).
  1. What is the language of instruction ?
    Lectures are conducted both in Bahasa Malaysia and English. However English is the sole language used for the printed material, the post-module assessment and paper work.
  1. How will I develop my personal profession skills ?
    Throughout the classes, you will acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge that is directly applied to your Executive Diploma project on your own specific topic. Your classes are made up of a highly motivated and well qualified individuals with diversifed experience that by itself will generate a vibrant interchange of information, flow of ideas, and viewpoints.
  1. What is the size of a class ?
    The maximum size of an Executive Diploma class is 30 students to ensure individual support for each participant and intensive group work
  1. What are the prerequisites to obtain the Executive Diploma ?
    All candidates are required to take the following course elements :
    * Modular assessment - The formal coursework is based on a modular system. Each module consists of 20-hr lectures, tutorials, case studies and hands-on post-module assessment which can lead to Exec. Diploma.
    * Project Work (Proposal & Report) - each candidate is required to complete a project work, designed to utilize his/her newly acquired skills in the work place. The project proposal must be submitted at the end of the lectures on the eighth (8th) module to the Programme officer. Project report must be submitted within two(2) months upon completion of the last module. The project will be assessed by an appointed academic supervisor.
  1. Is there any other ways I can pay my fees?
    You can pay your course fee using :
    * Employee Provident Fund - Account 2.
    * KLIA Training Flexible Installment scheme
    * Financial Institution Loaned scheme.
    * Human Resource Development Fund (Ministry of Human Resourse)
  1. Is there any graduation ceremony ?
    YES. A graduation ceremony will be held at UTM Campus City , Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur
